Here’s a thought – Poppies for Morphine.


Not mine but one that I thought I’d share.

There is a world morphine shortage:

In fact this has been reported back as far as 2005.

Why not stop burning the poppy fields in Afghanistan and legalise the entire industry creating, in it’s turn another industry which ships these life saving pain killers to all parts of the world?

Wouldn’t that bring jobs, lower crime, bring taxes, safety and all sorts of other wonderful things to the war ravaged country?

I’m sure it’s all more complicated than that but it seems that there is

1. a supply of opioids that could be turned into morphine instead of heroin

and

2. there is a demand for pain killing opioids

Do I need to start an online petition or is this just thinking too far outside of a box that isn’t actually a box?

Mmmmm… Opioids.
