ABOUT

Things and Stuff. Stuff and Things.

This is no Promus of Formularies and Elegancies.

What it is, for want of a better definition, is a place where I can collect all of my creative work and see if it hangs together thematically.

Inspired by these three disparate people and these particular quotes from those disparate people:

Ayn Rand:

Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists.. it is real.. it is possible.. it’s yours.

quote from Atlas Shrugged

Andy Warhol:

Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.

Robinson Jeffers:

Let them Alone
If God has been good enough to give you a poet
Then listen to him. But for God's sake let him alone un-
til he is dead; no prizes, no ceremony,
They kill the man. A poet is one who listens
To nature and his own heart; and if the noise of the
world grows up around him, and if he is tough
     enough,
He can shake off his enemies but not his friends.
That is what withered Wordsworth and muffled Tenny-
son, and would have killed Keats; that is what
     makes
Hemingway play the fool and Faulkner forget his art.

I submit these quotes, out of context of their original framing and entirely within the window of my own artistic endeavours, as a means to help a reader understand the intention I had in combining all of my work on this site.

This portfolio probably won’t make you a better human being or, for that matter, a worse human being, but it will help you pass some time.

I think that’s a pretty good thing given how life sometimes gets.

  3. I love the horror scopes! – I myself just stumbled upon the idea this morning. It was one of those times you think you’ve invented something… and then google algorithms take you to someone else’s blog where they’re doing the same thing but better… Anyway, happy writing (which means happy reading for us!)
