Based on an art project by the artist Gillian Wearing that was purloined by advertising agency BMP for a series of VW commercials. Gillian Wearing was not happy.
People would write on a piece of card what they were thinking at that moment and then a picture would be taken of them and their card.
This is my interpretation of that using The Big Three.
I very think so.
A final note on artistic theft. It apparently happened again to Gillian Wearing. This time Mr. Saatchi, sponsor of many in the Young British Artists movement, or more specifically his advertising agency seemed to have used one of her ideas to promote a BSKYB relaunch.
So two points:
1. If you are an artist with good ideas they will be stolen by the advertising industry in order to sell stuff. Even as they deny they are stealing your ideas they will make millions from those very same ideas.
2. Please don’t sue me Gillian Wearing; I am paying homage.
